Engineering and Management Consulting company Ensite needed a fast solution to an urgent problem. The company had been discussing a move to TRG with our team, but when Hurricane Beryl brought its power down indefinitely the relocation became time critical.
The problem: Unplanned power outage due to a natural weather event
Mother Nature has been known to wipe out power supplies to data centers with very little warning, but some have the means to get power back on much faster than others.
In this case, Ensite had already been dealing with unreliable power, and were considering moving to TRG as a result. But when Hurricane Beryl reared its head and brought the site’s power down fully, Ensite needed a fast solution that would get vital systems back up and running.
The solution: A fast migration to reinstate power urgently
Time was of the essence in this case. Plans for migration were made on the Friday, and by the following morning all client equipment had been picked up and migrated to our data center.
New internet cross connects were run in preparation the night before, so that our team could get straight to work rebuilding the rack as soon as equipment arrived. By 8pm that evening the power was back on and Ensite was back to serving its customers as if nothing had happened.
The end result: A reliable power supply and a better customer experience
Ensite’s move meant that for the first time it could offer its customers a totally reliable and dependable experience.
The risk of unexpected downtime was completely eliminated, meaning that customers no longer had to deal with frustrating delays or a lack of information. As a result of its switch to TRG, Ensite had the support of a disaster-proof data center, with redundant power and industry leading uptime with enough availability for any deployment.
Improvements in uptime soon led to an uptick in reported customer satisfaction levels for Ensite. Better uptime also meant better sales opportunities, allowing the company to maintain service level agreements with ease.
