Snapstream is well-known for its live video clipping product, which is used by organizations looking to create narratives and improve their influence. The Texas-based company now has 19 Colo+ racks and counting here at TRG, and is looking to open an office space at our facility in the near future.

After battling poor service and unexpected power outages at its previous data center, the software company moved to our facility in search of a more reliable option.

It wasn’t just a dependable service that Snapstream needed, however. The software company also required a flexible solution that could be tailored to suit the specific needs of its business model. Colo+ fit the bill perfectly.

The problem: Inflexible colocation and frequent power interruptions

Poor weather had been causing frequent power outages at Snapstream’s previous colocation facility. The company had also been struggling with a remote hands service that wasn’t as user-friendly as they’d have liked (and wasn’t free either!)

Snapstream came to us looking for a reliable service that wouldn’t be affected by weather events, as well as a simpler and more seamless remote-hands service.

Flexibility was also important to the Snapstream team. The company’s specific business model had to be supported in a cost-effective way. Thankfully our tailored colocation options could do just that.

The solution: Colo+ & free remote hands-on

Snapstream opted for Colo+, which is much more than just managed colocation at our Texas data center.

The Colo+ service the company chose provides unparalleled levels of reliability and flexibility, while still offering cost savings when compared to the cloud. Snapstream now has 19 racks here at TRG, having added five new racks since the start of this year.

Remote hands-on saves the Snapstream team huge amounts of work, and the fact that we don’t charge for remote-hands requests has allowed the team to work in a limitless way.

The fact that remote-hands requests are free as part of Colo+ has saved the Snapstream team from having to make the trip to the data center on numerous occasions, not to mention the hours of work that it would have taken to get new racks set up when needed.

Snapstream has also been able to ship packages directly to us, to be stored in the short term until the time is right for them to be set up in racks. In the future, the company plans to open a physical office space here at the data center, to provide its team with a suitable workspace when they are on site.

The flexibility that we offer has made things possible for Snapstream that couldn’t be done in its previous location. In Snapstream’s last data center, there was no possibility of mounting a satellite dish, for example. Since moving to TRG the company has been able to mount the dish in a location that works for them.

Our team continues to work in partnership with Snapstream to provide the tailored service it requires to fulfill its goals for the future.

The end result: A fully flexible and 100% reliable service

Colo+ has proven to be the perfect solution for Snapstream. Now free from unexpected power outages, the company has been able to provide its customers with a standout experience that’s always reliable.

Snapstream has continued to rapidly expand since moving to TRG, fully supported by the data center behind it.

The company can be confident of the support of TRG as it grows, and our free remote hands service continues to make all the difference to Snapstream. The team have been very happy with their experience at TRG so far.
